What happened in Syria was a revolution by the people against a decades-long murderous, psychopathic, family-based, minority regime. Of course there were the "usual" supporters of the regime, people who benefited from it and filled its security apparatus with willing criminals and thugs, just like in any revolution, but that does not make it a civil war (like the blogger suggests). The majority rised up, paid a heavy, heavy price, but prevailed and got their country back.
