Thx for the Video, my two cents, H.J. Marseille (Hugenot roots) was the best, a broken Daimler benz 605 engine prop gearbox , of his 109G-2 killed him
His heritage is from brilliant france. ❤
Thanks for the video. I life near the Marseille Barracks in Northern Germany.
Germany was not to be underestimated.
They potentially could have won the war without thier evolutionism enduced human righs abuses.
Great video as always! I was a little sad to see Hans-Ulrich Rudel missing from your essay. Some might be surprised to learn that Rudel had 9 aerial victories to his name, despite flying a Junkers Ju 87 "Stuka" dive bomber for nearly all of his 2,530 missions. He was shot down or forced to land 30 times and was wounded five times by flak, but never by enemy pilots!
I hope you make a video about him one day, very interesting character. Helped with development of the A-10 Warthog, as he was a ground attack specialist.
The rest of his resume includes: 519 tanks destroyed, 1 battleship (Marat), 1 cruiser, 1 destroyer, and 70 landing craft sunk, 800+ vehicles, 150 artillery/anti-aircraft positions, and 4 armored trains destroye, all on the Eastern Front. The only recipient of the Knight's Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds!
Bravo! A good story in the darkness.
Thank you Colin for your research and review of some of the best fighter Aces of WWII.
Informative historical coverage video about infamous Luftwafa pilots during WW2…thank you an amazing ( forgotten history) channel. 5:29
Big brass ones he had.
Erich Hartmann and Gunther Rall
WW1 Manfred Von Richtoven aka Tha Red Baron is my favorite and is who Char Aznable aka Tha Red Comet. Tha Red Baron will continue to influence pop culture for centuries to come
Why can't I hype the video? Your best work is war or government conspiracy.
Even though these pilots were our enemies, they were all great men!👍🏼Thank you for these great stories! I will purchase these books! I already have in my possession ‘German Fighter Ace Erich Hartmann’ & ‘The Blonde Knight of Germany! Hi from New Zealand!🇳🇿
Warriors of the sky!
I love this authentic channel.
The Germans had 2/3 of their kills against Russian biplanes! Not exactly top pilots either. They got smoked 4-1 ratio first three years by American pilots and 8/1 kill ratio last year the Americans were far superior and the British faired well too but not close to America 8-1 ratio by war’s end. Germany had some outstanding pilots but they were way overrated as is this video! The stats don’t lie.
Gerhard Barkhorn?
Germans counted planes destroyed on the ground, as part of "kill count". (Allies did not.)
Great episode, thank you
great stuff.
Rudel and his Stuka, what a legend. The most highly decorated German soldier in WW2
They are all Nazi air aces due to their Me 262 terror fighters that killed many allied aircraft and my American grandparents.
If you look at the way the Russians treated their own people, it's amazing any Germans made it home at all.
