  1. I grew up in the mountains of southwest Virginia and I have attended such "churches " as a kid. Scared and confused me! I have cousins in West Virginia that are still part of this kind of strangeness. Thank God He got me out of that, today I'm a confessional Lutheran.

  2. In Jesus name in his temple I never seen any of them handled snakes in the temple jumping around like that when apostle had the holy Spirit come to them I did see them handled snakes jumping around like that.

  3. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable. Anything spoken against the spirit will never be forgiven. Be careful what you speak against. People serving God and worshipping is not a cult. Please remember, I'll say it again, Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable. The only unforgivable sin.

  4. People like this change the promise from “it will not hurt them” to “it may kill them, but my faith is still valid.” That won't work. Mark 16 doesn't merely say believers will handle serpents or drink poison—it says they “will not hurt them.” The protection is the sign. According to the logic being presented, if someone is harmed or dies from the very thing Christ said would not hurt them, then either Christ's promise failed or the person was not a believer—and we can set the former aside.

The reality is that these were attesting signs accompanying the apostolic proclamation, not commands for believers to deliberately seek danger. The biblical example of handling a deadly serpent is Paul, who encountered one accidentally on Malta, and the viper did him no harm (Acts 28:3–6). That is precisely the kind of divine preservation Mark 16 describes. If the serpent or poison kills you, it does not confirm the sign—it demonstrates that the promised protection did not occur.

  5. Jesus, when he stated you shall pick up serpents was not literally saying to go and pick up snakes! He was referring to as what happened to Paul when he was bitten by a viper, it did not harm him, as to what Jesus was referring to! No where in the Bible do we read to handle snakes as though we were given any rights to do so! There is no spiritual or physical reasoning behind handling snakes. You just make others turn away from the church.

  6. Unless you have experience it , you will not understand it. It can be wonderful, drunk in the spirit. The Holy Ghost satisfies❤
Don’t believe we need to handle snakes…not sure what the Lord thinks about that!!?
