She would apply their cosmetics, style their hair, choose outfits, advise them how to pose, walk in heels etc. She also bought wine and canapés from marks and sparks. We all thought it was a crazy idea, but. In about a month she had 5 or 6 paying clients who came to these afternoons. One evening she told me all was going well, and that 3 of these regulars were psychologists, psychiatrists from nearby Harley Street area. " Can you imagine going to see a psychiatrist ? And he's then spending time doing this, here " she said laughing.
I've never forgotten that conversation, and thinking about it 3 individuals working in the same field, statistically is very high.
