  1. I was raised around guns from a young age, not a intensely, but also still respect and have guns. Not a republican like most people think our family would be, and raised all my kids around guns also — Never had any issues at all!
I think it’s vital we have mental health awareness we didn’t when I was growing up in the 80’s, but also (duh) gun safety and respect is so important! Just as any other tool, or recreation we have these days. Accidents can and will happen.

  2. The parents seem scared to say what they really think (especially the father), that is fine. But why invite a camera crew and a journalist into your home if you are going to be really calculated and reserved about your answers.

  3. 28:00 see even if we were for restricting guns, there are so many out there that the bad people would get into their hands anyways. So having some citizens like this carry (the adults) who can help defend people if one of the bad ones has them is ideal.
Also there is no way this lady (Brit) can get on board with any of this. It is so horrid in herself that she can’t open herself to other possibilities. She came in with strong negativity and disgust for people like this and is just not able to bend even slightly or open herself to being in their shoes.

  4. It's not like that here in New Zealand, we have no gun culture but they do in America & I believe what Autumn's parents are doing is a really good thing, they're preparing her in a safe way for the real world there. She's their daughter & Autumn is on to it she's no slouch.😊 They're right about school too!!

  5. I feel concerned for Autumn. She's too isolated. No family, friends, just her parents and an occasional library. We don't know what they are teaching her. Why be so isolated from everyone and gun obsessed. It's not balanced. This little girl is their cash cow. I feel sorry for Autumn and her mother. Something is off with the father.

  6. I’ve watched Autumn’s Armory for years. They teach responsible gun usage and always prioritize safety.
Autumn seems to be a very well raised little girl. Hats off to her parents. Good job guys! ❤️🇺🇸

  7. Something about this particular episode gave me such an impression, and I’m usually a fan of the series. Call it my progressive views, but something about seeing such a young child with the type of weaponry she has as well as has access to doesn’t sit well with me, particularly when you consider the mass gun violence epidemic. At the same time, there’s not much I can do about an adult choosing to exercise their Second Amendment. Something about children having legal access, particularly in a state like Oklahoma, seems like it would be illegal. I grew up in a very pro-second-amendment household, and I learned to shoot from a young age. Funny enough, my dad and my sister are still gun-toting progressives, while my mom and I are pretty anti-gun. I have always been curious about kids who grow up in pro-gun families, and how their views evolve around the topic from childhood to adulthood. One thing I kept hearing during this episode was the idea of a bad-guy man, and that the best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun. The pro-gun industry thrives on that scare tactic, and it’s one that I heard often growing up.
I believe that most individuals think that they need a gun out of fear mongering, and not because they actually trust themselves to be able to defend themselves without a weapon. I spent years in Europe, where the gun ideology is the complete opposite of that in the US, and there are just as many bad guys there as there are in the US. The only difference is that one person has a gun, and the other does not. I probably would be more on board with the Second Amendment if it had an overhaul because right now it’s too much of a free-for-all when it comes to whoever has access to a gun. There is a reason why most mass shooters grew up in Republican or conservative households. There’s been clear research on it, and not to be class, but one of the reasons why many of these mass shooters are successful at the number of people they kill is because they grew up learning how to shoot to kill. No one who grows up learning to shoot learns to shoot in a way that would cause the least harm. It doesn’t happen. You learn to kill first and deal with questions later. It is entirely too easy for people with mental health issues to get a gun. Look at the family featured in this episode, and when they mention they are loaners and Black Sheep, it’s clear they are isolated from one another. One could argue that the adults at least have some mental illness, maybe depression or anxiety about these so-called bad guys. Initially, both parents seemed a little apprehensive about having a journalist in their home, and I imagine they had seen Stacey’s show before and would assume her typical audience is more left-leaning.
I’d be curious to know what made them say. Yes to being on a show like this, rather than with their typical demographic. Also, I would bet money that autumn’s average viewer is an adult male, at least in his mid-30s. There’s an element of both innocence and submissiveness that is highlighted by having a young girl in what’s predominantly a male-dominated hobby. While not explored, I would be curious to see how a young white family with a daughter compares to a young family of color also with a daughter when discussing gun rights. I find that in many conservative communities, everyone is pro Second Amendment until you start mentioning other racial groups outside of White having equal access to guns as well as their own militias. And before someone tries to ask me why I brought race into this, it’s because races and everything, particularly something like gun rights, access, and discussion, are polarizing.

  8. So grown men are buying and wearing merch of this little girl! And the parents seem sooooooo guilty and disgusted w themselves when the subject is brought up……………

  9. I think gun violence in schools is as result of all the attention and the steps the schools have taken to teach what to do in an attack. But I would totally educate my child at this age how to shoot, if I feel they understand consequences, emphasizing safety. Of course I don't think all children are ready for such a responsibility. Profit off showing this content I'm not so sure on. However, I think public attention to the use of guns like this could be beneficial in reducing gun violence in schools.😬

  10. Autumn seems sweet, but I worry about people like her parents and their influence and isolation of the family. I don't like guns, but I do believe every American should learn to shoot in case of emergency. But that's it. The Constitution was written a long time ago when the right to bear arms was included for a particular reason. and that reason was a part of that time period. As much as I loathe guns in circulation, I see no way we will ever be rid of them. How many have to die before anything changes? Way too many have already died. A bunch of rich politicians and their families would have to be killed, and the brainwashed MAGA people would STILL argue that it would mean it's even more important to carry weapons and not let their "freedoms" be taken from them. I worry that Autumn will be primed for radicalization — and possibly not by those her parents would approve of.
