Another amazing episode. I truly value everything you both have to say. A North Star episode is, for me, a time to reflect not only on myself but at society as a whole. Looking back retrospectively on the Jason Arday witch hunt, it was painfully obvious the disgusting racial undertones underpinning the reporting by mainstream media.
I myself have only recently taken an interest in politics within the last few years. In the last episode when Saffana spoke about how we need to really 'think' about what is being reported and what is being said, who is saying it, and what might their intentions be, I find that the neutrality that disguises ill intentions is sometimes difficult to spot. Maybe that is because it has become so normalised or maybe that is my own lack of media consumption. My question is whether you both had any tips for someone looking to try and be more skeptical about what they consume?
It’s like Planet of the Apes online. The con artist was exposed. And those baboons just can't accept that no matter how long the rope twists, it eventually comes to an end!

I consciously avoided the media scrutiny around the Professor up until his death. This is partly because I abhor the well engineered and oiled 'anti-woke' media machine that casts the mistakes of 1 black person as a reflection of our community but also because, as a black person in a job that deals with the general british public, there is a certain stance of ignorance towards racism I take to protect my own mental health.
However, Professor Arday's death has been confronting and forcing me to question this stance. I agree with the critique of Novara media that they shouldn't have accepted the framing and take this cririque myself which will require a level of unpacking my own internalised anti-blackness.
A very small silver lining is that this horrific news story has brought me to your channel. It very hard to find independent news outlets from british ethinic minorities. I enjoyed the podcast and I look forward to following what you do next.

(Ex) Cambridge Professor Jason Arday said that he has been diagnosed with autism.
He was also mute until his 12th birthday, but had been playing snooker and football professionally while unable to speak. He was earning so much money from these activities his mother thought he was dealing drugs. He said his mother had 5 university degrees.
He had participated in the BBC child development program '7 up' over 20 years before he had been born (so presumably he's a Time Lord).
He successfully completed GCSEs in PE and Textiles before he could read and write presumably by hopping and knitting.
He had testicular cancer.
He couldn't read and write until he was 18.
He had a reading age of 9 at University (that one I believe).
He had a brain tumour removed and a stroke while completing his PhD in 2½ years. He also had testicular cancer.
He ran 600 miles in 6 days.
He ran 30 marathons in 35 days. The last 9 days he had a broken leg. He ran them at night when everyone was asleep and then went to his day job every morning.
He secretly raised £5.5 million pounds for charity.
He dug wells in South America and Africa for a charity that never sends people abroad.
He was a visiting professor at Ohio University (who had never heard of him).
Unfortunately, he couldn't tell the difference between "Poultry numbers" and 'paltry numbers'.
Apart from that the guy appears superhuman.
He was attacked twice by a masked armed man twice at Cambridge University who didn't appear on CCTV. He was so nonchalant, he didn't bother to tell the police.
A pig's head was sent to his parent's home. He did inform the police that time and identified the butcher's it came from. Neither the police nor butcher have any record of the event.
He did ensure that the police undertook a 4 month investigation into a Times journalist who had asked him about some of the above.

One can have sympathy for Arday but the beginning, middle and ending is that he was a liar and a cheat, enabled and promoted by the likes of Cambridge and the BBC in order to satisfy their own agenda. We can't claim on the one hand that the role of the media is to uphold the truth and to hold the powerful to account and then blame the media for simply doing their job when it comes to a fabulist who just happens to be black.

I'm glad channels like this exist. You are cynical, dishonest, tribal and race obsessed. This is exactly why multiculturalism is unlikely to work. Hopefully this channel will grow and more people will see clearly that the multicultural project is likely to fail

Edit — On Corbyn. I think the man is delusional. But the way he was treated by the Labour party was disgusting, and while i may fundamentally disagree with Corbyn; the man had conviction.
Politicians lie and the public have had it to the back teeth, but Corbyn is one of the only men in politics who i respected because I felt like he believes in the things he speaks on.
In short? Don't like his policy, ideology or ideas. Love his integrity.

The story sold like hotcakes because it was so obviously a pack of lies. If in doubt, blame racism, marthon running, cant speak till 11, cant read until 18,
so many medical issues, raised £5 million for charity, speech theraphy 10 hours a day, was a visiting professor for many universities, it goes on and on.
All of these claims could be easily proved, but as yet nothing has been proved. As for plagerism, its clear he did, anyone who teaches and plagerise should be removed whatever colour they are. Their students deserve honest teachers. Its strange, the UK is so racist, yet millions of ethnic minorities want to live here.
Everything is not about colour, its about fairness for everyone. Was the media coverage bad, yes, but when his backstory was so outlandish, you can see why.
The media, including novara's job is to report the truth and have no bias. As Sadly Jason could not live with the truth, it is not Novaras fault. Knowing how depressed he was, his rich and powerful friends could have paid for mental health councilling. They chose not to, instead they want to make him a marytr to their cause 😢
