I dunno, to me, this is kinda sad. As a senior with no family or close friends, late at night I’ve thought of the vultures coming in and pawing through all the stuff I’ve accumulated over the years, when something happens to me. It’s ridiculous I know, because I won’t be here, and won’t need any of it any more, and probably don’t right now, lol. The mind is strange and wondrous thing. A strike for nudity? You really should start wearing clothes when doing videos, no? That looks like an older home, given the amount of real wood inside, the dresser, and lock on that closet door. I would buy that door if it is the right size, I need two of them for my interior.
That place looked like it may have been an old folks home at some time. Look at all the TVs and the walker and other things.
The medication bottles would have had names and dates on which could help work out rough dates
I admit that I still have a bunch of VHS tapes, but I no longer have a VHS player.
If I die after my roommate (hopefully not too soon), my house could end up looking a lot like that due to people breaking in to search for anything of value.
In this day and age, those of us "older folks" are pretty much alone and don't have anybody to check in on us or clean up whatever we left behind.
I bet that is a possible explanation for the state of this house.

I still can’t believe you actually bother restoring vhs tape since many people these days don’t even know what vhs and vcr even are mainly because almost nobody uses those things anymore since they basically become obsolete around the time dvd came around and dvds became obsolete when the internet became advanced enough to watch just about anything online

No, its not hoarding, it's ransacking. You are not the first "explorer." Great Grandpa's cousin lived there… some old person with no kids… died of cancer… and once they finally figured out who was left to inherit, they lived far far away and it was already trashed.

I saw some medical supplies scattered, maybe there was someone living alone and had home health care, but maybe died and the house got rummaged through. I think I would have taken that knitted blanket, given it a good cleaning before using it. Some of the furniture looked good. Too bad it's going to be wrecked.

I know you wanted to see where they left off watching on the tapes…but a good rule of thumb is always press fast-forward…let it go to the end, it should automatically rewind it to the beginning. The tape gets loose over time and all VHS players play differently. It should tighten the tension of the tape and help them play better.
Going into these houses without gloves is a ballsy move. I'm not someone who thinks you should don a HEPA/P3 respirator, but I'm not sure if I could have been convinced to touch some of that stuff without gloves.
I'd say a combination of previous owners death, Ransacking, and squatting like everyone else.
Maybe the people are buried under all the rubbish! Its a shame that all that rubbish isn’t reduced to ash before its dumped in a landfill. Looks like even wildlife didn’t want any part of that place.

It's sometimes sad for me to see these homes in this condition that were once new and maybe full of fun and laughter. Time moves on. I noticed the hanging lamp in the room when you first walked in, I'd love to have that! I remember when VCR's and tapes first came out. In the beginning, there wasn't much of a choice for tapes, but I saw the 1930's King Kong movie and got that. Still have it, got to be way over 30 years old now. Also still have my Sony player-recorder. That still works too. I originally bought that later on to record VCR tapes to CD or vice versa. Those old TVs as someone else said here are good to have and people do want them mainly to play old games. I used to play my old Atari 2600 games on one. Not sure if the set up would work on the newer TVs.
