Hm I wouldn't let him stay in solitary. He doesn't deserve the privilege of safety. He did what he did and he can deal with the consequences which may just have to include some prison justice.
18 feels so young to be prostituting. I suppose some women don't mind that type of work — but others do mind it. I'll never forget—and honestly wish I could—delivering a pizza to an apartment complex once last year. As I was leaving, I saw a girl, maybe 17 or 18, walking on the sidewalk with this equally young guy. He gave her a sort of parting kiss, and she seemed pretty dismissive of it. Then she got on her phone, almost excited and loud, asking, "Is that you parked on the street in the white vehicle?"
I was still walking toward my car. By this time, the person in the vehicle was already at her front door, acting all goofy. She was inside the unit. Then he went in. It all felt very fishy.

I had to look out for myself growing up, cared about myself enough to never use drugs, had discernment about people and their intentions. Just because your worthless family members hate themselves too much to love you doesn't mean you can't love yourself.
Any teens reading this who have a messed up family, it can get better, you can escape them, but when you do, don't show it or tell them ahead of time.
When they realize you're getting away or plan to, they'll try to end your life. I should have just played it cool, acted normal, kept quiet, almost didn't make it out alive. You can tell them off later through social media messages or something from a safe distance.
