Great video . I left the church I was attending because the cognitive dissonance was on full display. The message was aligned with money and power . It wasn’t about the love , respect humility. Now am a Christian Buddhist.
I think the core is the politicization of the church. Church and state amalgamating, where they should have stayed apart. The separation of state and church exists for a reason, it protects both church and state. Mix them and they destroy eachother from the inside out. American politics is infected with pseudo-religious zealotry. The church is infected with all kinds of political shenanigans, rightwing ideology replacing religious principles. And in the end everything is soiled with greed and hunger for power. It appears you cannot serve god and mammon at the same time, where many still seem thoroughly convinced it can and even should be done.
Good riddance !how many were Epstein clients?
Where are YOU PRODUCING this little deconstructive gem from, Professor? NYC or Tel Aviv?
Look I have no affection for Reverend Televangetubbi. But destructive feminist lawyers are no better.
Heresy!
Why is American Christianity such a racist grift? So unchristian; these pigs deserve it.

I had dealings with both a SBC institution and the SBC itself back in oh, 97' after that year, I not only knew the SBC was toast, but it wasn't worthy of your time, money, or support.
Government, that institution that the SBC just loved to kneel to, closed the churches at gunpoint and left the strip clubs open. Hahahahahahahaa
AS AN 82-YEAR-OLD RETIREE, I LEFT CHRISTIANITY OVER 40 YEARS AGO, NEVER TO RETURN. I HAVE MY OWN INDIVIDUAL SPIRITUAL PRACTICE AND AM WHAT MIGHT BE CALLED A "CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALIST"!
churches with confederate flags, never heard of that one
I'm 70, stopped going to an SBC Church 52 years ago, and now the only time I go into a church is for weddings or funerals. I'm also an agnostic leaning toward atheism. Any religion or faith can produce bad people, but believing the Bible or Quran is absolutely true are the easiest to take over. I love how this trend is going because religious perversion is what led us to Trump.
Very good video, though I feel the need to add a few things based on what I saw growing up. First, the SBC shot themselves in the foot with black folks after the reply to MLK Jr's Letter From A Birmingham Jail, those eight tone-deaf white ministers caused two million people to be somewhere else, which eventually became the National Baptist Association and the Progressive Baptist Convention (my family church). They spent the next roughly 15 years trying to get us back…every year up until 1974 (I was 15), they would send representatives to 'convince' us to come back to the SBC. They weren't surprised when we noped out…I was actually surprised that they tried that long.
Second, I wasn't surprised that they were headed down that path, I know they had a major shedding of churches in the early 90's, one of my co-workers at the time was SBC and it hurt him deeply. By the early 2000's it was starting to be obvious that the white nationalism was creeping into the church…and when QAnon became a thing, where did they dig in like ticks? SBC and Evangelical churches! They already knew the doctrine and the dogma, all they had to do was mix in the ideology and blammo! MAGA PASTORS! I saw this coming and warned my pastor of my last church not to even consider letting that mess into our house, I told him point blank that I considered QAnon a political and ideological corrupter that would trash any church that bought it.
One more thing…the SBC is doctrinal and hardcore? Put them up against someone from the (thank god near-extinct) Holiness Church (Church Of God By Faith)…they'd run the SBC's off with snakes and bats.
These people claim to worship Christ but it is obvious they only worship Donald Trump.
I am 68; left church when I was 35. I maintain a life surrendered to Christ. The American church is not a faithful bride. Consequently, she has little to offer the world, except to comply with power.
I hope we can leave all this hypocrisy behind. They need to Fall apart altogether. They are a disease.
I am from Lubbock Texas. I walked away from the church in 1991 for reasons I won't mention here. I call what is happening to the SBC the Westboro Effect because the churches themselves don't want to be seen like them. The parishioners though…
26:51 Well… as a former Charasmatic/NAR/Pentecostal/Word Of Faith, I will say these same exact patterns, characteristics, and practices are there as well. You could have switched out the term SBC for one of the expressions I listed above.
For reference look at Bethel Church in Redding, or many of the churches in these movements that are going through this exact “purification” as we speak.
I witnessed this sort of thing in my own backyard and am seeing it abroad. Currently, ironically enough I am a member in a SBC church. Thankfully, nothing has occurred along these lines that I’m aware of.
With that said. Whether extreme Charasmatic or Conservative Evangelical, I am finding the condition of men to be the same. Like an a broken down building with cracks forming weeds will find its way through. Both buildings, all expressions in the western world, are not immune to the weeds. And no structure man made will forever hold out the weeds that will grow in the cracks if the foundation is not built properly on Christ m. We have all sinned and erred. And need to repent. All of us. I’ve had to many times.
We have labored in vain building a house not built by The Lord.
But there is hope because there is something organic growing. And The Lord will build His Church, and the gates of hell nor man’s unsanctified desires will prevail over it. The Same Gospel that United Jew and Gentile into One New Man will reconcile a fractured, sick, and divided body of believers. And shepherd His scattered sheep. That’s my prayer.

I'm retired and living on a fixed income. I'm watching from Baltimore, Maryland, USA in Eastern Standard Time.
Florida, midnight EST. Suffered SBC indoctrination and saw their hypocrisy as a child, and I never let them dunk me.
Walked away as soon as I became an adult and was no longer under my parents' control. 3 times a week for the first 17 years of my life was more than enough. Seeing the hypocrisy running rempant has assured me I made the right decision.
My family was victimized by an sbc church. Those concerned are still working, moved on like catholic priests. The church is evil. Walk away to protect your children and your faith. They dare to criticize trans people, projecting all their secret perversions onto already targeted people, while they cover up their rampant abuse of small children, and lie to themselves, their congregations, victims families, and god. May the church fall to nothing and be forgotten. God certainly does not need it, and neither do I.
Watching from Lee County, SC, and sad at what happened to the denomination I grew up in.
Sex abuse coverup and affirmation of the sex abuse and rape of a prominent politician were the lodge poles that broke the camel’s back for me. People overseas (who may also be Christians) , who watch this from afar, may be asking SBC missionaries overseas about this affirmation. SBC missionaries, God forbid, may mirror what their leaders who said “this is locker room talk, and boys will be boys.” When these same missionaries are asked about 1998 censor against Bill Clinton, and why not censor the more recent politician, they may say Clinton is evil, and not our “boy, who is God’s anointed.” Oh well, they are now known as “Access Hollywood” Christians.
