My daughter died on the operating table, she was 11 years old undergoing her third back surgery for severe scoliosis at 76° her back was an S shape. She lay in traction for over 3 months, flat on her back with a halo on her head and pins through her knees, weights on either end of the bed. I slept next to my brave little girl every night. The surgeons pushing down to screw all the titanium rods in place kinked her aorta because our aortas are defective due to Marfan Syndrome. They got her back and she had no worries going back in for the following surgery. She's a trooper, awaiting further surgeries at 19 years old now. I've always told my kids "Marfans sucks!
